New hostel for pilgrims at Heitenried (Switzerland, Canton of Fribourg ): from april 2010.
Founded and managed by two pilgrims.
On the way of St. James, at 4.5 km from Schwarzenburg, 14 km before Fribourg. Hauptstrasse 57, 1714 Heitenried. Open from april to octobre.
8 places in dormitory, terrace, garden, washing machine, laundry rack; no kitchen; on demande: pilgrim's menu Fr.17.--; breakfast Fr. 7.--; Accomodation Fr. 20.--/Euro 14. Mandatory pilgrim's credential (can be bought). Mandatory sleeping bag (can be hired).

Destined only for walking or cycling pilgrims. No accomodation for pilgrims with support vehicle.

New website design
This website www.jakobsweg.ch has been redesigned by a young webmaster. The multi language content has been reviewed and revised by a group of dedicated volunteers. The new website was launched in November 2007 replacing the website that was created eight years before. We thank the project team for many hours of work and hope you willl enjoy your visit on this site. Experience has shown that in spite of careful editing not all mistakes are found and corrected. Somehow there is always something which escapes our eagle eyes and "falls through the cracks". If you come across anything that needs correction, please let us know.
